I’m Being Followed Around by a Eureka Hand-Held Vacuum

2014-10-23 – I am being followed around by a Eureka hand-held vacuum cleaner. And it sucks!

It’s not the actual vacuum cleaner. It’s an ad for the vacuum cleaner that keeps appearing everywhere I go on the Internet. The reason it keeps appearing is that I am in the market for a vacuum cleaner. I looked at hand-helds on the Sears website because our regular vacuum cleaner is heavy and awkward. There are tons of heavy and awkward vacuum cleaners you can buy, not many light-weight machines.

Heavy and awkward may do the job, but you’re not inclined to haul the thing out of the closet until the dog hair creeps up to your knees. If I had a light-weight machine, I might be inclined to clean more frequently. I have a need. But honestly, Sears, I’ve gone over 20 years without such a machine. So could you stop stalking me?

Most advertising is read by people who will never buy. So I understand why companies try to make their ads connect with people who are in the market. But I gotta tell you, I don’t buy from stalkers.

I really appreciated having a website I could go to to see what kinds of vacuum cleaners might be available. As I said, there’s not too many light-weight machines out there. I’ve gone to a number of stores. In fact, I was getting ready to go to Sears when I thought I might try the website.

What a mistake. They always said I shouldn’t take candy from strangers. Now I’m being stalked.

I know the Eureka Hand-Held will eventually go away, but it won’t be for a while. This has happened before. In the meantime, I’m going to have to buy my new vacuum cleaner from someone else. Or wait for shedding season to pass.
