2022-01-24 – My dog knows what she’s doing. All the dogs I’ve ever has knew what they were doing. Especially in cold weather. Yeah, they like to play in the snow, but they have limits. I once wrote about my three-legged dog. You can read about that here. Ironically, that dog was named Lefty.
My current dog is like the rest. She likes to run around in the snow—once she’s out there. But she’s a little reluctant sometimes. Like this morning.
This morning at 6:15 I came upstairs with her leash, like I do every morning. She’s always a little slow to respond in the morning. It’s like waking a teenager. But this morning was worse. When she finally lifted her head, she looked out the window. It had just started snowing. She wanted nothing of that, so she put her head back down, like she was going to sleep. But she was watching me out of the corner of her eyes. She wasn’t going to budge.
I was a different story. I had to get to work. And in a little while, I’m going to have to go out and shovel that snow. I shoveled it yesterday. There’s more on the way today.
