2014-11-20 – Saw a headline the other day: “No Obvious Solution to the Mid East Crisis.” I didn’t click on it. I’ve seen these stories before and they are depressing.

Depressing not because they are right, though they surely are, as writers of these kinds of articles always are. Depressing because of the way the writer of this particular headline chose to express the problem:

No Obvious Solution to the Mid East Crisis.

It’s simply not true. There is an obvious solution. The problem is that politicians make their living ignoring obvious solutions. There is an obvious solution to the Middle East crisis, but no one wants to talk about it.

I am not going to be the first.

But you know what I mean. You see it, too. Right? Arabs and Jews would live fulfilling lives is their leaders embraced the Obvious Solution. There might be a sense of loss at first. After all, war is the only thing these people have known for their entire lives. It’s a hard thing to give up. But embrace the Obvious Solution and there would be a flowering of peace and prosperity for both peoples.

It’s obvious.

We have it here in this country, as well. Ideological fighters closing their eyes to our obvious solutions. You see what I mean. The obvious solutions are there. We just need to dare to look at them.
