2014-03-13 – I’m not much for bragging, but I have one talent that fills me so with pride that I can’t even help myself. So here it is: I have opposable toes. I can grasp and pick things up with my feet.
Which is why I wear shoes, I suppose.
Yes, I know that you wear shoes, too. But your wearing of the shoes hides your lack of grasping ability while my wearing of the shoes . . . doesn’t. Because I can grasp and pick things up with my feet.
Now, I have to be honest. My ability has its limits. Can I play the guitar with my feet? Only a little. How about the piano? Not much. So I must be typing this blog with my toes, right? No.
So what can I do?
I can pick my socks up off the floor without bending down.
You scoff! But how many wives have criticized how many husbands for not picking their socks up off the floor? My skill is a force for marital bliss. What could be better than that?
And you know what else? My boys have inherited this talent. I am so proud.
