2012-09-24 – This evening I watched the sun set over the bluffs in western Wisconsin from my Amtrak train from Chicago to La Crosse. Tomorrow’s sunset will bring the start of Yom Kippur, Wednesday’s sunset the end.
A couple years ago, I took this train past La Crosse. It was at a time of the year when I was able to watch the sun set as the train ran into Minnesota for many miles along the Mississippi River. It’s rare that I watch the sun set. I’m more of a dawn person.
It’s also rare to take the time to reflect on life. So that’s what this week’s blogs have been about. For the most part I’ve resisted the temptation to write about the million things that flood my mind from day to day. I’ve resisted, but not completely. It’s a hard thing to do. I’m already thinking about Friday’s blog when I’ll go back to the day-to-day.
For now, I’m giving it a rest.
