January 15, 2026 – As of today, it’s half a month since I was last on Facebook—half of my digital-dry January. It’s mostly been a good thing. I may continue it into February and beyond.
But here’s the downside: I’ve eliminated one of the major ways I have for talking back to the news. It doesn’t even matter if anyone sees one of my talk-back posts. When I was young, people talked back to the TV. It did your soul good, even though (in those days) no one heard your cry in the wilderness.
I realized this a couple days ago when I saw an MSN story entitled “Why Elon Musk Says Saving for Retirement Will Be ‘Irrelevant’ in the Next 20 Years.” This story sums up the scam of our economic system so completely that I wanted to shout “Horseshit, Elon Musk!” to all my Facebook friends.
But, of course, I’m not on Facebook this month, so I’m pouring out my wrath in this blog instead.
So, here’s why Musk says saving will be irrelevant: AI will create such abundance that people will have “whatever stuff they want.” Bibbety bibbety bibbety bibbety bibbety bobbity boo.
Horseshit, Elon Musk!
The US already has sufficient abundance that people could have whatever stuff they want, but people are impoverished, people are living on the street, people are dying for lack of healthcare, and so on.
And the reason this is true, Elon Musk, is people like you. You hoard it all. Explain to me how AI will fix your insatiable appetite to prevent others from living comfortable lives. You’ve done your best (which is not saying much, however) to undermine Social Security. That’s our retirement saving, Elon!
If you think that it will be “irrelevant” to save for retirement, show us the way, Elon Musk! You don’t need $600 billion to be comfortable for the rest of your life. Maybe it’s time for you to get rid of it all.
End of rant.
